Choosing Access

When it came to migrating JTP’s accounting software to the cloud, Kevin wanted to ensure there was no loss of historical data and no impact on his company's day-to-day operations.

"We tried out 3 other financial products, but one of the main reasons we went with Access Financials was that we were able to keep our historical data and just bring it over, which was very easy for you guys to do. To move to another supplier would have been a lot of hassle and they could not host more than 2 years of data. We also knew that Access Financials would meet our business needs."

Moving from Dimensions to Financials was hassle-free for Kevin and his team and offered him a safer and easier move. He didn’t have concerns about data formatting, permissions or functionality by migrating to updated Access technology.

We didn’t have to do any actual work ourselves, our IT team provided a link and permissions to grab the data, and that was it... super easy. After that, we had various training with the concierge services which was super helpful and the best experience we ever had.

Amazing functionality

Kevin and his team are extremely pleased with their journey to the cloud and their migration to Access Financials: "The main benefit we have seen is that it’s sped up our internal processes by miles."

Kevin previously used ODBC reporting and was the only person on the team who could use this reporting functionality. Exporting raw data, formatting it and not having the option to import it into Dimensions was not only frustrating but extremely time-consuming.

"Everyone relied on me to run the reports, now others can self-serve their reporting needs. – that was a super, super plus. The import functionality is absolutely superb. A lot of invoices are received in spreadsheet templates. Now we just make sure they match the import grid, and it's just a few seconds of work."

It isn’t only Kevin who is happy with the improvements Access Financials has brought about, his team has seen extensive time-saving benefits since migrating.

The management report used to take us 1⁄2 a day to prepare, now it's literally an hour max. We don’t do any overtime anymore - that’s a good thing! It’s not only about the speed, we don’t do as much manual work anymore, everything is automated so there’s very minimum
chance was going to have errors, so less time going back checking formulas, etc – that benefit I can’t quantify!

Further to this, Kevin’s team has a newfound love for the duplicating page functionality within Access Financials: "The other major benefit was being able to duplicate your page in Financials, as many times as you want. It means I can complete other tasks or look up something on another screen whilst being in the middle of a transaction, I find this really useful."

Concierge services

One of the areas JTP have been most impressed with was Access’ concierge services. They have benefited from 4 weeks of guidance and support and have been able to lean on their dedicated specialist for training that has been catered to their business.

It was the best experience I ever had; I cannot thank The Access team enough. The whole thing was pretty smooth. We transitioned during a lockdown and all working from home. Everything was done over Teams calls which went really well considering the circumstances.
