How does Assemble integrate with other platforms?

Assemble is built on an API-first integration or webhook, which lets it connect with many applications, supporting the exchange of data and aligning these third-party platforms more closely.

This also makes single sign-on (SSO) capability possible for both members of staff and your volunteers. This means:

  • Users can access multiple applications or services with a single set of login credentials such as a standard username and password
  • No need to remember separate login credentials for each application
  • Authenticate once and then access multiple applications seamlessly without being prompted to log in again for each application

What software does Assemble integrate with?

Assemble can technically integrate with any third-party platform. Some of the common integrations include:

Charity CRMs

A charity CRM provides a single-supporter view, whereby you gain insight into the supporter journey. This can include information such as their personal details, the events and emails they have signed up for, and the donations that have been made. A VMS such as Assemble will provide additional detail surrounding volunteering and the volunteer journey. These details can entail where they are within the onboarding process, their rota shifts, and both their quantitative and qualitive impact within the respective role.

Integrating Assemble with a charity CRM such as Access Charity CRM allows both platforms to be updated with information from the outset. For example, if a volunteer’s contact details are updated within your CRM, it will feed through to Assemble, and vice versa.

In one scenario, your Supporter Care team may be on the phone to a supporter who is experiencing an issue. When looking at the charity CRM, it shares that the respective supporter has also been a volunteer for several years. Given the amount of time and endeavor this person has contributed to your organisation, your team will acknowledge the importance of providing a suitably personalised level of support.

E-Learning

Where gaps in your volunteer’s knowledge may arise, educational courses and training can be facilitated via a learning management system (LMS).

Integrating Assemble with an LMS ensures that not only are volunteers inducted correctly to a new role but also that training updates are not forgotten. Direct links only to the courses that they need make it an easy experience for the volunteer, whilst automatic updating of their records with course completion frees up managers from the administrative burden of keeping your volunteers safe and legal.

For example, you may onboard a new volunteer who may have limited experience in their respective roles. In this case, they could access an LMS to engage with source material to develop their knowledge and skills before starting their new role.

Customer service solution

Integrating with a customer service solution provides your volunteers with additional support where it is required.

If a volunteer experiences an issue with your VMS, for example, they require assistance with how to self-serve their rota, they can reach out for guidance, which then notifies the Volunteer Manager of the issue.

With its own simple 'Contact Us' process, you’re able to receive questions from your volunteers direct to a shared volunteering team, or other, email inbox. However, if you already use Zendesk throughout your organisation, Assemble can be easily integrated, maintaining the single view of all support tickets logged by volunteers alongside supporters.
