We liked that the system had ‘out of the box’ solutions for the different matter or case types and were tailorable therefore it was the best fit for us. A lot of other systems do not have the flexibility to develop the workflows the way we wanted whereas the default workflows in this system almost act as a crib sheet to develop our own things which is really good. Also, the integration the Access Legal Practice Management system had with things like SDLT, land registry and HMRC were strong. The software forms the core of what we’re going to be doing going forward and we’re really happy with the way it works and the potential it offers. We have a number of integration projects and ideas we will be working through and this system forms the backbone for much of that.

We were doing a lot of routine conveyancing transactions that were time consuming so we implemented Access Legal Proclaim to speed up this process and automate tasks within its pre-determined workflows. The document storage capability has meant we’re less reliant on printing lots of documents and they can all be accessed from one central place, reducing paper costs and improving efficiency. We have implemented the Access Legal Case Management system since the firm was founded and it has been an integral part of our operations. It’s a highly customisable, full featured and automated system which, through additional development to support our specific needs, makes the work undertaken by our staff much quicker and simpler to deliver. Now that the system has been fully developed, there’s pretty much nothing it can’t do for us. The way the system now integrates across the business means we’re able to complete at least 50% more work than if we were operating in a more manual, traditional way. The case management system and integrated legal accounts system has already helped us to be a more digitally focused firm. We’ve seen roughly a 30% reduction in printing and postage usage compared to last year and the systems should help us maintain this ‘paper-lite’ approach. Further to this, client needs are changing and their expectations are being influenced by experiences they’re having with other sectors therefore implementing more digital operating processes allows us to work towards the needs of all of our clients however they want to receive our services. Another benefit of the Access Legal Case Management system is the ability to store and link all the emails related to a matter together, making it easier to find emails and removing the need to print and file them as we’ve done previously.
