Tiggo Care - Case Study

Technology is just as important in the care sector as it is in healthcare. Digitisation is the key to unlocking both a greater capacity of care and greater quality of care; streamlining processes with better software enables staff to reclaim valuable time and allow them to spend more of that time directly with those they are caring for.

Here at Access, we are working closely with the NHS and care providers to hone our solutions, so they are best suited to our ever-modernising industry. Two such solutions are Access Care Planning and Access PeoplePlanner; designed to digitise the administrative processes and provide electronic records of things such as care recipient requirements, secure access to medical records, the ability to take quick notes for evaluation purposes, and tools to support staff duties, rostering, and finance.

For this case study we spoke with Chris Williams, Founder and Managing Director of Tiggo Care; a multi-award-winning home care business in London that supports adults living in their own homes.

Introducing Tiggo Care

Tiggo Care is a homecare business based in London, supporting adults living in their own homes. As a provider, Tiggo Care has a variety of services available, from hourly visits to 24-hour live-in care.

All of these services are tailored to meet the unique requirements of the individual. The company has won multiple awards for its care services, including the GHP Social Care Award and the London & South East England Prestige Award.

Choosing the right solutions

For Chris Williams, the transition from selling his software business to founding and managing Tiggo Care unearthed the problem of a lack of digitisation and the continued existence of paper records and notes for care planning and rostering.

“I took my time looking at all of the different products in the market and I decided to go with Access Care Planning and Access PeoplePlanner” said Chris. “I liked the way the two products integrated and the software was the most intuitive for my Registered Manager and Care Assistants.”

For Chris, the accreditations of Access Care Planning and the peace of mind that comes with them was a big selling point, with Access deemed an assured supplier of Digital Social Care Records (DSCR) by NHS England, and Access Care Planning meeting the Care Quality Commission’s regulations for care software.

How The Access Group helped

Tiggo Care has used Access software since its inauguration in 2021, so with three years under their belt, how has their experience been with The Access Group?

“I’m very happy with the software we use and I don’t think competitors offer a better solution” said Williams. “The technology makes it easy to schedule rotas and to send rotas to staff and clients. Access Care Planning is easy to customise so I’m happy with the care plans and risk assessments we have in place. I like the fact we have a mobile app that can be used by staff, clients and their family too.”

With the Access team alongside for the initial implementation and subsequent support, Tiggo Care reported that they were able to get up and running quickly and to resolve minor issues rapidly.

The Results

By onboarding Access Care Planning, Tiggo Care can ensure that all of their clients have accurate and up-to-date care plans and risk assessments, and with the ACP app the care staff have immediate access to this information and can add their own notes to give the most accurate assessment of a person’s wellbeing and needs.

The Care Planner app receives additional praise from Chris Williams, who says that his staff love the app and the fact it’s easy to understand and follow scheduling with.

Access PeoplePlanner has also ensured smooth operating day-to-day for Tiggo, with the employee management functionality allowing for accurate and consistent planning and rostering. This means things like real-time monitoring and shared scheduling are utilised heavily, ensuring that care provision is ever-present and of the highest quality.

“Our Registered Manager says she wouldn’t want to use any other software and that Access has always been her favourite.”

The future for Tiggo Care

With Access and Tiggo Care set to continue working together, the next objective for the care provider is to add new locations in 2025 to expand the services they provide.

As for what Chris Williams sees for the future of care, “I expect LLMs (language learning models) will become more prevalent in Care Planning, reducing the time spent writing documentation.”

At Access, we are currently levelling up our entire software suite with Access Evo; our AI experience to enhance solutions to further support integration, interoperability between programs, and to provide ever-more support to users so that they can easily work with the best tools to provide the best care outcomes.
