Preventing Radicalisation training

The course will explain how to approach safeguarding for vulnerable people and prevent them from being radicalised in education. It will help you to identify signs of radicalisation and extremism in education and understand when and how to report concerns to others.

At the end of this Preventing Radicalisation training, learning will be able to:

• Identify the aims and objectives of the CONTEST strategy, as well as the Prevent programme and the Channel process
• Define key terms that are used to prevent radicalisation and extremism in education
• Identify those who are vulnerable and at risk and the factors which should be considered to assess someone’s vulnerability
• Recognise your role and legal duty to safeguard vulnerable people
• Take appropriate action to safeguard vulnerable people
• Escalate concerns promptly to relevant people

• An introduction to the Prevent strategy - This section introduces and outlines the CONTEST strategy, as well as the Prevent programme and the Channel process.
• Identifying the risks - This section of the course covers those who are vulnerable and at risk of radicalisation or extremism in education, the factors which should be considered to assess someone’s vulnerability and actions which you can take to help safeguard young people from violent and extremist views.
• Controlling the risks - This section of the course provides guidance for recognising risks associated with various substances and the importance of being aware of ignition sources. Key factors concerning the anticipation of potential effects and harm are also dealt with.
• Eliminating or controlling the risks - In this final section you’ll cover the key roles associated with making referrals, as well as documentation requirements. 

Preventing Radicalisation and Extremism in Education training is delivered online as an interactive course to each trainee on their computers, or portable device at any internet enabled location. The interactive course is engaging, informative and exciting to use.
