Moving Estimating Data To The Cloud
Founded in 1979, The Caddick Group offers a wide range of services which includes project design, construction, civil engineering, and property development and management.
Caddick’s estimating team has been using Access ConQuest for more than 27 years, and the move from on-premise hosting to the cloud was a logical step forward for the growing business.
Dave Empsall, Chief Estimator for Caddick Construction, outlined to Access Construction how on-premise servers were ageing and beginning to have a detrimental effect on the software.
Accessibility issues were becoming troublesome as members of the team needed flexibility to work remotely and current remote desktop applications had drawbacks. This impacted on collaboration within the estimating team. The decision was made to move the software to cloud hosting with assistance from Access Construction.
As long-term users of Access ConQuest, a substantial amount of data needed to be migrated onto the cloud, which was handled by Access Construction’s technical specialists.
Enhanced Estimating Collaboration On The Cloud
Now hosted remotely on the cloud, Caddick has seen a multitude of benefits to hosting Access ConQuest using our cloud services.
- Cloud hosting gives users the ability to work remotely effectively, so shared work streams can continue even when team members are outside of the office.
- Increased and improved collaboration.
- Complex reports are generated in a fraction of the time when compared with the on-premise version of Access ConQuest.
- License management is far more flexible and easier to manage. When new team members join Caddick, licenses can be transferred quickly and easily.
I would recommend anybody that's using Access ConQuest to move to the cloud-based platform.
It’s well worth the investment for the added benefits, including increased collaboration, accessibility, long term cost certainty and flexibility of license management.
