Payments
When will I receive payment?
You will receive payment in February and August each year, providing you have reached the minimum amount of €50.
When will I receive my first payment?
You will receive your first payment in the first payment round following the publication of your title(s) providing you have reached the minimum amount of €50, to avoid high banking fees. You will receive a statement of your royalties due every January and July.
How often do you make payments?
We make payments twice a year, once in August and once in February of each year. The payment may take a few weeks to hit your bank accounts, depending on how your bank processes transactions.
I wasn’t paid in the past/on time in the past, will I receive payment on time this time?
We are continually improving our processes to ensure that all authors are paid on time. We also ask that all authors communicate their new bank details to us to enable us to make payments. Should you have open queries, please get in touch with: [email protected]

Taxes
Can you send me a receipt for my taxes?
We moved to PDF statements in January 2025 (payout for July-December 2024). You will be able to use this document for your taxes.
Amount queries
My payment due is under €50, can you hold it to avoid fees?
Yes, we received feedback from some of our authors that they would like us to hold on to their royalties until they reach certain amounts to avoid high bank fees. Access now holds onto royalties until the author has reached a cumulated amount of €50. This may mean you won’t receive payments every six months.
I think the royalties amount on my current statement/I have received is incorrect.
If you believe your royalties amount is wrong, please email the team at [email protected] with your AUTHOR ID (find it on any statement), your statement, a copy of your contract(s) and your specific query.

Bank details and currencies
How do I change my bank details?
To change your bank details, please contact [email protected] and include your AUTHOR ID (find it on any statement). We will then send you a secure form for your update. Please note that we will need to receive the completed form before the cut-off date mentioned in your statement email to ensure the payment is made on time.
Can you share the bank details you are currently using so that I can check that they are still correct?
To request the bank details currently logged in our system, please contact [email protected] and include your AUTHOR ID (find it on any statement).
How do I make sure you’re paying me in x currency
Our systems have a record of the currency requested by each author at the time they filled out the financial information form.
