Create accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities quickly and easily
The foundation behind ConQuest Estimating is the comprehensive suite of libraries including Rock, based on SMM7, CESM, Roads & Bridges and our rules of measurement library ‘QLIB’, based on NRM2.
By using the libraries, you can build up a detailed Bill of Quantity using preset outputs, saving you time and ensuring that you define and price up everything required for a project.
"All the information you need for your bill descriptions is already in ConQuest and you just click on the required description. Again, this allows us to produce our bills of quantities incredibly quickly," Steven Donaghey, Colemore Tang.
The libraries contain millions of items, with constants and outputs which have been refined over many years.
"The level of detail that ConQuest creates, provides information that is invaluable to Contract Managers and Surveyors. We take off every job ourselves and there are always a large number of spot items. We use the ConQuest description library for some trades when taking off, and within 5 minutes we can have 10 or 15 priced items in the Bill, which is very helpful," Phillip Webb, Coulson Building Group.
The way in which the libraries work is also unique; the flexible set up allows you to find what you want quickly and mark the job up as you create each item to save time. You can make adjustments and changes to suit the current project.
"I am working on a job at the moment worth about £2 million but there is no bill of quantities. The library match feature in ConQuest lets me put in the client’s headings but then use my library descriptions and resources to create lots of build ups behind their headings. I can have 10 separate build ups for each item but they are hidden, when we win the job all that information is there in the background,” David Barbour, akp Scotland.
As well as the main ConQuest libraries, customers are supplied with an additional library for keeping their own items and detailed composite build ups. These complicated build ups can be loaded into any part of any project in a few clicks and they link directly through to your main library of rates.
"We use ConQuest from the ground up, we need to have all the build ups there. ConQuest makes it easy, we have been building the library for our needs and we have always found it easy to do," Louis J Walshe, Clancy Docwra.
Reduce errors and omissions, improve accuracy
ConQuest Estimating’s features work seamlessly together to help you create accurate and detailed estimates.
The systems has been designed to save you time and prevent and highlight errors and anomalies.
"With ConQuest you can load all the pricing schedule in to it so you know you have covered everything. Using other systems it is easy to skip over and miss stuff. With ConQuest you can put everything in from one man and a shovel to a crane driver. We have 4 estimators here and we are all very impressed," Jonathan McNichol, 8Build.
In construction, details can change quickly, and you need systems that are fit for purpose. With ConQuest Estimating, making last minute alterations is quick and easy. With a click of a button, changes are factored across your whole project.
"If it gets down to the last minute and things need changing all my notes are there against each item. It allows you to change things very easily," Andrew Robinson, ARQS.
ConQuest software is also widely used within the industry, so whenever you receive data from third parties, it’s likely to be in a format that you can easily input into your software, without having to waste time converting files, or manually typing details in. This means that you can do your job faster, without delaying your project for unnecessary admin work.
"The bills come back to us in the correct form, because a lot of our competitors are using ConQuest and our Quantity Surveyors are familiar with the formatting required for import when producing our bills," Richard Hubble, Wildgoose Construction.
On Screen Take Off is another ConQuest feature that enables you to save time, whilst improving the quality and accuracy of your data. This easy to set up and use function allows you to measure and extract information from a variety of electronic drawing formats including PDF, CAD and BIM.
"It is great that the PDF drawings we receive can be loaded straight into ConQuest and that ConQuest then picks up the vector information in the drawings. The auto calculation of the areas is a particular time saving feature compared to doing it long hand," Steven Donaghey, Colemore Tang.
