Through its Charity of the Year initiative, employees across The Access Group come together to raise funds and awareness for meaningful causes that align with the company’s giving back culture. Employees have set up various events already this year to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer and have planned many more, including the London Marathon, Santa Walks in various locations around the UK and a fundraising Gala. Alongside this UK partnership, Access has 8 other charity partners in key operational locations globally, and each partnership is decided by an employee vote within each country.
Talking about how the mammoth bike ride came about, Ian shared:
What started as table talk about an out-of-the-ordinary activity to do before turning 40, quickly became a journey I can reflect back on with tremendous pride. Knowing that we surpassed our goal and made a real difference to young people with cancer has made every arduous mile worthwhile.
I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to give back to a cause I’m passionate about with the support of my friends, family and the team around me.
Andrew Stevens, Access Legal’s General Manager, said:
What Ian has achieved is admirable and it’s remarkable to see how much money their challenge has raised for such a worthy cause. Generosity and charitability are fundamental to The Access Group’s ethos, and with his cycle challenge, Ian has set a fantastic example to all our teams and demonstrates to our thousands of customers worldwide that we care about them too.
