Broker Assess and Tick join forces

Broker Assess and Tick, the two leading online learning and assessment systems for the UK insurance broker market, are to join forces to offer brokers a system that combines the strengths of both products.

The new combined system will serve over 25,000 UK brokers and will be hosted and supported on the Unicorn Training Studyserve learning management platform.

Broker Assess is the Chartered Insurance Institute’s comprehensive training and competency tool, developed in partnership with the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA), AXA and Unicorn Training Group. With over 20,000 users it is the recognised market leader.

Tick, developed by Searchlight Insurance Training, is also well known and respected in the broker market, with over 5000 users.

Searchlight managing director Ian Jerrum said: “This is good news for current users of Tick and Broker ASSESS. Tick customers will continue to have the same extensive range of practical broker-oriented technical content they have now, and in addition will benefit from all of the CII/Unicorn interactive learning material, comprehensive question banks and assessment tools. The new unified system will incorporate all the best features of Tick and Broker ASSESS into one state of the art system. ”

The new agreement between Searchlight, CII and Unicorn also sees Searchlight appointed as the preferred supplier for the CII Broker Academy, face-to-face regional training programme and other regional training initiatives.

CII director of general insurance markets Peter Knowles said: “ASSESS users are already benefiting from the improved platform, rolled out in July, and I’m certain they will welcome the introduction of the Tick features including a substantial number of new technical insurance topics. “
