Who are Haul And Store?

Haul and Store is a family-run e-commerce fulfillment business based in Camberley, that has grown organically since being established in 2015. Haul and Store pride themselves in offering an exceptionally high level of customer service to the brands they work with.

The system Haul and Store previously had in place for their warehouse was unsuitable for their needs, being more suited to enterprise level warehouse management, rather than the ecommerce fulfillment processes they needed it for – CEO and Co-Owner, Hamilton Butcher said:

Our customers were becoming unhappy and it was really becoming a top priority to either develop our own system or to find something suitable off of the shelf.

The challenge

After investing 12 months of time and money into their existing warehouse management solution, Haul and Store discovered Mintsoft in 2019 via LinkedIn. Following a demonstration of the Mintsoft system, they identified it was the fulfillment-focused solution they’d been looking for, and would solve the challenges they were facing.

Solution and results

Haul and Store use Mintsoft to process the growing order volumes for their clients and in addition, it supports their ethos of providing excellent customer service to every client. Some of the key features of Mintsoft, that Haul and Store benefit from are:

3PL invoicing

Originally, Haul and Store’s owners were manually processing their invoices, consolidating activities into a spreadsheet at the end of each day, and manually transferring the data to their accounting software every week, which was prone to inaccuracies and missing line items. The data was intensive and the task was becoming more and more laborious as their order volumes and client list was growing. With Mintsoft, all activities are captured within the system, which have costs assigned to them and can be populated into the weekly invoices and send to their accounting system with minimal human intervention.

With Mintsoft’s 3PL invoicing functionality, all of a sudden, as the owners of the business, we got 20-25 hours a week back and get our evenings back.

Customer portal

Mintsoft’s 3PL system helps Haul and Store to offer a core part of their customer service, by providing a transparent view of their operations through the customer portal. The customer portal ensures that each brand that entrusts Haul and Store with their ecommerce fulfillment, always has full visibility of their own orders and perform tasks that they’d otherwise have had to request Haul and Store to perform.

Some examples of the tasks Haul and Store’s clients can now perform via the customer portal are:

  • Inventory checks
  • Check order progress
  • Address changes on orders
  • Create reports and dashboards

Previously, our clients would have relied on email and phone to check progress or to ask us to complete administrative tasks. I couldn’t quantify the amount of time the customer portal has saved us.

Picking accuracy

The automation of processes and barcode scanning capabilities provided by Mintsoft has allowed Haul and Store to increase the speed of their order processing.

The barcode scanning not only enables them to verify the right stock is being picked – increasing picking accuracy, but also removes the need for 2 or 3 people processes for large trade orders that need multiple re-counts.

You know it's never 100% but you know it's gone from being maybe 70% accurate to 99 which which is an enormous difference. And of course the speed at which we can process all of those orders now is tenfold.
