The contribution made by Accountants is often misunderstood and underappreciated. Accountants provide an invaluable perspective for individuals, small businesses, and corporations.

Though culturally seen as not much more than form fillers for the ATO, you are significant pillars of the economy.

But more than that, the life of an Accountant is heavily intertwined with that of their clients. Being present and providing advice at significant life stages is all part of the job. Career changes, marriage, children, divorce, and the promise of retirement. An Accountant often becomes a key and trusted advisor for many.

This report is an exploration of Accountants, their perspectives of the industry, and how they spend their work hours. We wanted to better understand and celebrate the role of the often humble and underappreciated Accountant, to get under the skin of their day-to-day challenges, and to really get to the core of the human side of accounting.
