HMRC and Border Guidance Supply Chain Updates

The UK’s exit from the EU has meant there are many changes affecting businesses throughout the entire supply chain. HMRC Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and French customs have made some significant changes and we are anticipating more to come.

As The Access Group is a member of ADS, we have been provided with official guidelines  which include the most recent customs updates.

The three key updates on customs are as follow:

  • Updated UK Customs helpline/helpdesk contacts -

HMRC have scaled up capacity on the UK Customs helpline/helpdesk team following the end of the Transition Period. The helpline staff are able to handle the vast majority of operational queries including, general calls about NCTS and GVMS.

  • GB>IE Pre-Boarding Notification requirements and links for assistance -

HMRC have been made aware of a number of hauliers being turned back when attempting to board on GB routes into the Republic of Ireland, due to them having not completed the necessary steps required by Irish Revenue. One issue in particular is that some hauliers have not met the Pre-Boarding Notification requirement.

To better help manufacturing businesses understand the new customs guidelines, we have collated this information into a document. Please follow the link below to download the customs updates.
